- DESCRIPTION
- The nurse will provide and coordinate infusion activities to assure compassionate patient care. Provides direct patient care in compliance with professional practice and clinic standards. The Infusion Nurse will also promote a collaborative, interdisciplinary approach towards patients, families and all members of the care delivery team.
- POSITION SPECIFICATIONS
- Educational Requirements:
- Graduate of accredited school of nursing
- Valid R.N. Louisiana license or temporary permit
- CPR prior to completion of orientation; ACLS within 60 days.
- ONS Chemotherapy and Biotherapy certification within 6 months

- Experience Requirements:
- Previous experience with infusion therapy, preferred; One (1) years’ experience in direct patient care, required

- Oral and written communication skills
- Computer skills
- Possesses personal qualities such as: kindness, empathy, understanding, respect, good judgment, integrity, loyalty, a sense of humor, and an ability to relate to people in a compassionate manner.
- Fully vaccinated against Covid-19, preferred, due to immune-compromised nature of APTC patient population. If not fully vaccinated, will be required to wear N-95 at all times when in contact with patients.
- Special Requirements:
- Able to care for patients with infectious diseases
- Able to administer aerosol medications
- Able to assume the following positions occasionally, 0-33% of workday, sitting, kneeling, reaching overhead. Lifting, carry, pushing 100 feet, pulling 100 feet (25-50+ lbs.).
- Must be able to assume the following positions frequently 33-66% of workday standing, walking, stooping crouching, lifting 0-25 lbs.
- May come into contact with communicable disease, unpleasant odors and hazardous materials.
- Potential for increased stress level
- Potential for exposure to: combative, violent, and abusive patient behaviors.
